About

I am Myra Monique Paderog, a fourth year BA Psychology student of the University of the Philippines- Cebu. This is a campaign born from taking a course on Environmental Psychology.

This campaign idea was brought upon one day while i was cleaning my room. I noticed that majority of my trash were photocopies from years of studying in college. My sister and I realized that the same is to be said of her experience as a former student of UP Cebu and of the other students boarding in our boarding house. With the help of my older sister, Myrose Melanie Paderog, we came up with the idea of recycling the photocopies into notebooks.

Not only is the idea feasible, it will also give students the empowering feeling of being able to do something for their environment, if only one step at a time. As a student, i often questioned my ability to create change, the change that everyone seems to expect UP students are capable of doing, especially after exams and overwhelming paper deadlines where i feel almost powerless to create change in my own grades and behavior. Conversations with peers has led me to the realization that not only is this the case for me but also for several of my fellow Iska and Isko. With this campaign, i aim not only to increase awareness in the several issues of overwhelming paper use and production but also to empower Iskolars that change is within reach, if we all think and act together. This campaign will be the start of my own endeavor to save the environment and start the domino of change for my fellow Iskolars who feel that they are rendered helpless in the face of all the environmental, societal and individual issues.
